Here are some hot water savings tips:

• Common default factory temperature settings are 60^oC (140^oF) or higher.  This is hot enough to cause scalding so consider lowering the temperature.  Lowering the temperature to around 50^oC (120^oF) can reduce energy use by approximately 10%.

• Annually, drain the sediment from the bottom of the tank.

• Wrapping the hot water tank with an insulation blanket (available as a kit or separately at most hardware stores) to reduce heat loss.  Adding insulation to the hot water line leaving your tank will help with heat loss.
